Alpha for Prisons & Halfway Houses

My friends at Alpha not only cared to listen to what I had to say, they were always there for me, not disappearing when I was in need.
For the first time, I tasted the essence of true friendship and was able to sense God’s love in the community.
— Teck Loon, Alpha for Prisons Volunteer | Ex-Inmate

Alpha Singapore focuses on assisting volunteers to run Alpha in Prisons and Halfway houses in Singapore and the region.

Alpha is a practical introduction to the Christian faith and is open to people of any background. It runs as a series of weekly meetings which involve a time of being together amongst the inmates and volunteers, a talk and small group discussion. The discussion (if allowed by the correctional facility) is conducted in such a way that everyone is free to ask or say whatever they wish.

There are fifteen talks over a ten-week period, covering the basic principles of the Christian Faith.

Internationally, Alpha has been running in all types of prisons and correctional institutions for both men and women, and has also been used in young offender and juvenile institutions in more than 80 countries worldwide, including 73% of prisons in the United Kingdom.
